Research
Our research focuses on energy-efficient, secure and reliable computing systems.
Energy-efficient computing
Energy-efficiency has emerged as a critical quality metric from computing systems. Designing energy-efficient (or more broadly, energy-, power-, and thermally-efficient) general-purpose and embedded computing devices matters more now than ever before. On the one hand, the IT sector is one of fastest gowing contributors to world-wide energy consumption, and on the other, we can no longer depend on advances in semiconductor technology to reduce the energy/power consumption per operation as was the case in the past.
